Start Eating Healthier
The following is an excerpt from WebMD.
It’s important to make sure you’re eating a good variety of foods and all of those food pyramids and guidelines are there to help you do so, but they won’t do you a bit of good if you’re not following them. After all, it’s just as important to pay attention to what you aren’t eating as to what you are eating.
To keep track of what you’re eating, WebMD recommends keeping a food diary for one week. In this diary, you should record what you eat and drink, when you do it, and the amount you consume. This will allow you to go back and see what food groups you are consuming regularly, and which ones you need to work on. Remember, when you eat food from a food group you’ve already eaten, that’s taking away space from a food group you need.
Establishing healthy eating habits isn’t hard, it just takes a bit more planning at first. It’s also important to remember that you don’t need to consume every nutrient every day, but to make sure you have a balanced diet over a longer period of time, such as a week.
